Harvest 2012

Is already underway on another vintage Torre do Frade. Here in the upper Alentejo the heat has been intense and has accelerated the maturation to perfection. Until now we notice a sharp drop in production but the quality in terms of Acidity, pH and Alcohol indicate a very balanced wine with more freshness than normal. It turns out that the maturation was very late and too quick not allowing the normal development of the berry, the ill-fated drought has not helped, because the palnt have been stolen water from the berries to suppress the lack of food. So, we have very low average weights with the curls to weigh less than other campaigns, but so is life and that is how nature controls the wine.

Cheers!!
